Certificate Awarding Ceremony of ACBA Batch 4

The certificate awarding ceremony of Advanced Certificate in Business Administration (ACBA) batch four was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka on Friday, September 19, 2014. ACBA is a joint offering by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). The Honourable Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Professor Dr. Abdur Rab Mia, Former President, AMDISA graced the occasion as the special Guest and represented AMDISA president on the occasion. The Director of IBA, DU Professor Iqbal Ahmad presided over the ceremony. Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Co-ordinator ACBA & Chairperson, Management Development Program (MDP), IBA also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Md. Mohiuddin started the program with his welcome speech. He highlighted various aspects of the program and emphasised on the motto of ACBA program. He also mentioned that ACBA initiative was to give a platform for the talented business executives to excel to the greatest height of success. Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad highly praised the collaborative success of IBA and AMDISA. She highly appreciated the pursuit of knowledge among the participants. She mentioned that to be successful, one must learn from past mistakes as well as connect with future possibilities. She highlighted the importance of such programs in managerial capacity building in this region. She congratulated batch four on their successful completion of this six month program. Professor Dr. Abdur Rab Mia highlighted on the ADMISA’s role in quality assurance and excellence in education sector. He also urged to involve more corporate participants from other South Asian countries to this program. Professor Iqbal Ahmad acknowledged the supports from the University of Dhaka and AMDISA for running this program. He said that this innovative program gives a unique opportunity to the participants from diverse background to learn from not only the course materials but also from each other’s experiences. Ms. Sutapa Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor & Student counsellor, IBA concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks and congratulation to the participants on their success and wished the best on their all future endeavours.

Friends and family members of the participants were present in the occasions to celebrate the success of the participants. Deans of different faculties of Dhaka University, members of IBA Board of Governors, Faculty members of IBA, and important corporate personalities were also present to grace the ceremony. The certificate awarding ceremony was followed by a dinner.
